Yarro of Pacifica

Son of King Oberon of Amber, by Alisandra of the Shadow Pacifica, raised on one the smaller islands of an ocean world with no significantly large land masses, Yarro is an experienced sailor and swimmer; scuba diving and spearfishing are natural hobbies as well as necessary skills.

Time flow being somewhat more rapid on Pacifica than in Amber, Yarro's education at the hands of Oberon himself did not interfere with the monarch's duties at home. Having decided that Yarro would be spared the status of legitimate heir, Oberon allowed himself the luxury of raising the boy with a good deal more personal care and affection than he was wont to give to a prince in the royal court. His stay on the island of Barsoom as a fisherman and father in a 'normal' family, was one of the more relaxing periods of Oberon's life.

From and early age Yarro was possessed of a fine singing voice and skill on the baliset and flute. In addition, he developed a talent for drawing. This eventually led to lessons in Trump Artistry. As he grew he also recieved wide martial training from Oberon, and when the time came, instruction in walking the Pattern. It was then that he was informed of his father's true station and was told that, if he wished, his parentage would remain secret, that he might live a life free of 'royal entanglements'. He was quite content that it be so.

After assaying the Pattern, Yarro and Oberon travelled together now and again in Shadow for nearly seven years, during which time Yarro's eduacation expanded into the realms of sorcery and conjuration. Then finally, satisfied with his abilities, Oberon left Yarro to find is own path. Owing to the young man's love of marine environment avians, Oberon's parting gift to his son was Jack; an osprey created of Yarro's own blood and possessed of certain rather unique qualities.

After the Patternfall War, Yarro returned to Amber via a Trump of his own creation. Still an unkown to any of the Amber royals, he set up a residence in town and opened a seafood restaurant down by the docks. Gerard frequently eats there, and although Yarro is aware of his presence, they have never met. The place is called the Golden Earring.

It is during this time that Ghostwheel decides to conduct a search of all those to be found of Amber blood. Coming across Yarro right there in Amber, he becomes a silent, unsuspected ally.

Currently, Yarro lives aboard the Whispering Wind, spending a good deal of his time sailing her to a wide variety of Shadow worlds. A recent find is a town in Shadow with a tavern owned by one Lady Nia, where the company is extraordinary, and almost always enjoyable!

Jack

A mature male osprey, Jack possesses enhanced intelligence, vitality, stamina, reflexes and regenerative capabilities. He is able to track through Shadow, phase to invisibility, and when desired, merge with the cloth of any garment and abide there in the form of an embroidered pattern, or as a tattoo on skin. Jack and Yarro are mindlinked.
