Built from 1730 thru 1734 by Richard Cassels (and later
extended by James Wyatt), the residence of the Marquis of Sligo
is one of the most interesting mansions in Ireland.
There's not much left of the original furniture. Instead, there are some family portraits on display in the Long Gallery, and some landscape paintings decorate the walls of the upper floor. The basement now features a not very stilish shopping arcate. The park features a children's zoo, rowing boats, pedaloes, train rides for kids and other attractions. |
