We "discovered" Myrtle Beach in 1989, when we only had 3 kids. This was even before we became addicted to golf! We fell in love with it immediately. Even with all the traffic and the crowds, you can still find your own quiet place at the beach. There is truly something here for everyone. We have watched the area grow by leaps and bounds, but it still remains one of the most affordable family vacation sites around. |
Before we bought our time share, we stayed in some really nice places. Check them out here
The Myrtle Beach Pavilion is one of my family's favorite fun places. It's easy to spend the whole day here, riding the rides and playing the games. The new roller coaster, The Hurricaine, is SO much fun. Located downtown, it's easy to find and there is a parking garage across the street. Check out their page for prices and times of operation. |
Ready for some shopping? There's no better place than Broadway At The Beach. Go for the shopping, get something to eat, and stay for the fireworks and laser show. This is an all-day type of place. Eat at Johnny Rockets, Hard Rock Cafe, Planet Hollywood, The NASCAR Cafe, or one of the many other great places. Stop at Ben and Jerry's for ice cream. Go to the Jimmy Buffett store! The NASCAR Speedpark lets you imagine you're taking the turns at Talledega or Daytona. Check out the IMAX Theatre and The Ripley's Aquarium, winner of the 1999 South Carolina Governor's Cup as South Carolina's Best Travel Destination by South Carolina Dept. of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism. One of our VERY favorite restaurants is Crabby Mike's Calabash Seafood in Surfside. Built on the site where Steeres's was before being destroyed by a fire, this place is great! Get there early for the best prices and to avoid the wait. The service here was the best I've ever had at the beach.
Deer Track. We have played this one the most. The South Course is best for beginners. |
Indigo Creek. This is where my husband shot his very first birdie. |
