1963I was born on 7th February
1974Started secondary school at Priestnall School, Stockport
1979Passed 9 'O' Levels
1981Passed 5 'A' Levels & 1 'S' Level
1981Went to University at Imperial College, London
1984Graduated from Imperial with a BSc in Mathematics and ARCS
1984Started work as an actuarial student at Hymans Robertson & Co., consulting actuaries
1987Joined Citibank life (now part of Lincoln National)
1992Qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries
1994Joined Pinnacle Insurance Plc
1995Elected to the Staple Inn Actuarial Society Committee
19961st January, appointed a director of Pinnacle Insurance Management Services
199620th July, married Simon Gledhill at our local parish church
1999Honorary Secretary of the Staple Inn Actuarial Society for 1999/2000 session
20001st February, presented Unemployment Past, Present and Future at the Staple Inn Actuarial Society.

My Publications

I have written a paper entitled Unemployment Past, Present and Future, with my colleagues Simon Jeffery and Graham Bolton. It was presented to the Staple Inn Actuarial Society on 1st February 2000 at Staple Inn Hall. The paper looks at the history of the creditor insurance market, the current marketing practices and the actuarial developments in this highly specialised niche market. Currently the creditor market has never been in such turmoil and the paper concludes with a look at future problems and the opportunities these present especially for the life and pensions market :
