Some nice papyrus-styled columns. The deeper you go into the temple, The less reconstruction there is.


The "sacred lake" of the temple. It represents the waters of creation, where the ancient Egyptians believed all life came from. They were partly right in that aspect. You can see the crane in this picture rebuilding some of the walls. Reconstruction has been going on here for almost 150 years, with most likely another 100 or more to go.


At the back of the temple, there are only numbered and sorted blocks waiting to be put back into place. Hopefully in my lifetime.


A shot at dusk of the back corner of the temple, looking toward the front where we went through. When I go back, I'll probably spend a couple of days in here. I only saw a fraction of what was in this amazing place.
