Tintagel Castle

Built in the 13th century, with artefacts found recently, dating back to the 6th century, it is the legendary birthplace of King Arthur, born to Queen Igerna and protected by Merlin, who
lived in a cave below the fortress. Once or twice a year is said to disappear, reappear in its
former glory, then return to its present condition.
