“The relationship between Haruka and Michiru is quite special. I think the most important feeling in the world is friendship. The friendship between them is so strong that is becomes love. There’s not only heterosexual love, but there also can be homosexual love, in this case between the two girls”.

Haruka said to herself, "Elza Gray knows Michiru and me. She's the one who introduced Michiru to me. This was before I became Sailor Uranus." Haruka remebered a dream she had, that started the same as Rei's, but then Michiru appeared as Sailor Neptune. I said "the silence is approaching you have to find the right person, only you will recognize her... Sailor Uranus."

[Haruka had a flashback] Haruka and Elza were facing each other in a track meet. Elza said "The people say that you run very fast, but I won't lose. But Haruka was much too fast for her. [end of flashback] Haruka thought, "I was good at all sports. I was just doing them so I wouldn't get bored. The only thing that interested me was motor sports. The circuit was everything, if I hadn't met Kaioh Michiru."

[Haruka had a flashback] Elza approached Haruka after the race and told her "Tenoh Haruka, I just heard rumours about you, but you are really amazing. I want to introduce you a friend, come here Michiru". Elza continued "Michiru is a genius and she draws beautifully and also she wants to meet you".

Michiru said "you don't have a drop of sweat, this is because you know how to control your power." Haruka said "what are you trying to tell me" Michiru answered "I think that you can hear the wind when it blows.." In that Haruka realised that she was the person who was looking for, but Haruka didn't want to become a Sailor Senshi so she thought that accepting she was also accepting her responsibility.

Haruka knew that Michiru sensed her identity in that moment. So she told Michiru "you are strange, what do you want?" Michiru said " I was searching for you because I want you to be my model for a picture," Haruka answered "No thanks that kind of stuff I don't like it" and she left.. Michiru was very upset....

[Haruka had a flashback] Haruka was on a cruise ship, and Michiru was playing a violin. Haruka linstens to Michiru's melodious violin piece, hearing a cuople nearby speak of the "anti-social Junior High girl". She winds up talking to her again because the said girl just won't leaver her alone; she corners her as Haruka gazes at her chaotic painting portraying the Silince. Later Michiru met Haruka on the stairs. Haruka was looking one of Michiru pictures called "End of the World". Michiru said "Do you like it? I hope so, thanks for coming. Tenoh Haruka You're very famous racer in my school". Haruka said "It seems that you know everything about me" But Michiru just continued talking without paying attention to her words. Michiru said "Everyone wants to meet you. And I know that even a person who is a girl will like to go on drive with you in your car near the sea."

Haruka said "so this is "the End of the World" it is strange that a nice gentle girl like you that can't kill a fly can draw something like that so terryfing and full of fiction!" Michiru said angrily "that, it's not my imagination. I can see it my destiny, like you."

But Haruka said "Don't be stupid I am Tenoh Haruka a car racer and about the End of the World I don't know anything, I guess if someone has to save the world why this person is not you... and stop and investigating me!" Michiru answered " Don't say that, forget everything I said, don't be silly I want to be a great violinist in the future and about to protect the world from its destruction.... I don't care!"[end of flashback] [Haruka had another flashback] In a garage, Haruka noticed that someone was asking for help. When Haruka got close, that person turned into a monster. Haruka was going to help, but the monster was too strong. Just as the monster was going to attack, a pen appeared in mid air in front of Haruka. Haruka was going to grab it, but a voice called out, "Don't!" "Don't grab that. If you grab that you won't be able to return to normal life." It was Michiru, then she transformed into Sailor Neptune infront of her, then she attacked the monster. When Sailor Neptune was going to finish off going to kill the monster, Haruka walk infront of me to protect the monster and told me to stop, because that monster was really a human. But Michiru said, "The silence is approaching if I don't kill him , there will be more victims." Haruka said, "So you're not going to choose your methods." MIchiru said, "Yes, I'm not going to choose."

Then the monster recovered and attacked. Sailor Neptune dove to save Haruka. Then SN used deep submerge attack to finish off the monster. Michiru was injured and she fell to the ground. Haruka went to her. Michiru said, "I might have killed him. Next time I'll kill them. It's not all right, but since I'm a senshi I chose this."

Haruka said, "Then why did you protect me? If you injure your hand, you won't be able to become a violinist." Michiru said, "I didn't investigate you because you were the other senshi. It was before I knew. I was watching you when you raced. I wanted to ride in a car with you along the sea shore. Tenoh, Haruka you always use the sincerity of your feelings".

Haruka answered "I don't use them, I am always escaping from my destiny" Michiru continued talking " I knew more about you that yourself. I've been watching you all the time. I didn't want you to take the same road as me. But I was happy when I found out that you were the other person, please forgive me, I didn't want to say that... forget my words." Then Haruka reached for the pen that was on the ground, and grabbed it. [end of flashback]

Haruka thought, "So I chose this road. I just accepted that fact that I'm a Sailor Senshi. I have to find the messiah that will save this world." Then she said to Michiru, "I'm glad I met you." Michiru said, "What?" Haruka said, "Let's just keep driving together. I won't let you go tonight." Then they just laughed.

Michiru and Haruka are very devoted to each other a nd are romantically involved. Haruka and Michiru never kiss or show any “traditional” signs of affection in the anime or manga. They don’t express their love in pubblic (as they dind’t want their homosexuality know) and quietly deny it when asked. In episode 167, Neptune, holding on to Uranus by the arms, who’s hanging from the side of a building), mentions how she thinks Uranus has been “eating too many sweets these days”. Uranus, smiling, replies, “I never thought I’d hear that kind of talk outside of a bed”. In episode 181, where Haruka complains that Michiru’s hurting her and asks to be touched gently. Michiru responds with “Later, when we’re alone”. These words prove they’re a couple.

Haruka and Michiru complement each other perfectly: Haruka’s strength and Michiru’s intellect (although Michiru’s also strong and Haruka?s also intelligent), Michiru’s calm and haruka’s attitude (which she only drops around her partner), the way they read each other perfectly and work together with extraordinary efficiency. You can’t really imagine one without the other. Haruka’s essentially a very thoughtful individual. To the rest of the world, Haruka shows a brash front, but Michiru, more than anyone else, sees her true character. Michiru is irked when Haruka flirts with other girls, but Haruka grows extremely jealous over incidents as simple as autograph seeking males talking to Michiru in the manga. Haruka is not very good at hiding her feelings and her jealous possessive nature screams of insecurities. You can see her get jealous when young men (even 10 year olds) flay Michiru with attention. Haruka isn’t a man-hater, either. She just has a problem with “popular men”. For exemple, Michiru never loved Seya at all, and vice versa. Seiya just wanted to know more about this mysterious Michiru, and Michiru, like Haruka, is very flirt.

As herself and Sailor Neptune, Michiru can be the rock under Haruka’s feet, keeping her clear to their mission and the objectivity of others. She encourages Haruka to take some chances, and is avid protector of her lover. Haruka and Michiru are partners, andwork together nicely. The way the act together shows that they truly are in love. When they died in Sailorstars, Haruka says “I need to touch Michiru one more time”, and they die holding hands.
