ABOUT ME

How does one, on just one small page, tell about them-
selves and what they are "all about"? Think about it!
It's a task that is
not easy.  How many pictures do you
include of yourself, without making yourself seem really
stuck on yourself (which is something that I'm
not!)? I didn't have many pictures of me, at least pictures that I would want to put on a website.
  Here I
try to tell you about me, Ken Smith.

              Current General Information about me
Okay, here we go. I normally don't talk about myself all that much, which is another
reason why making
this section of my website was so difficult. I am a normal, average
everyday person. I try to be as polite and courteous as I can to everybody I meet. I am
always wanting to make new freinds, either locally or from around the world. I consider
freinds, true freinds, to be absolutely priceless. The more freinds that you have, the more
you will enjoy your time on this planet. I am a very shy person at first meeting, as I
am concerned about first impressions (which, of course, are lasting impressions). Then,
once you get to know me, you wouldn't ever believe that I'm a shy person. I wear my
heart on my sleeve more than anyone I know, and I
think I'm quite outgoing, boist-
erous, and fun with people that I know.
I currently live in South Florida; in a city called Sunrise, which is a suburb of Fort
Lauderdale. I have lived here since December 10, 1997 and I absolutely love living here.
I have always lived in an area that had cold weather...and it has always been my desire
to live somewhere that has no winter. Because of my career with a major airline I have
the opportunity to live and work in several different locations in the country.

NEW PICTURES COMING SOON
KEEP MOVING DOWN

This is one of the earliest pictures
taken of my entire family that I know of. From left to right: my
sister Carol; my beloved mother
Ann; beloved father Charles (Charlie); and me, being held in my
father's lap. I think I was about
six months old in this picture.

Yikes!!! Even
at 5 years old,
I was already
looking like
a Republican!

    Easter, 1968

I had a very happy childhood. I was never in need of anything; my father, a Navy
veteran from World War II in the Pacific Theatre, was a very good provider. My
sister and I were given
just about anything we wanted or needed. My home life
growing up had those "old fashioned family values" that we keep hearing about
from the politicians. This, I think, is where my Conservative way of looking at
things was begun. Mom stayed at home and raised the family; Dad went to work
every day and brought home the money.
Both my parents  -God rest their beloved souls-  did an excellent job raising both
my sister and I.  In
their own way, they taught us between right and wrong; that
drugs are bad for you and stay away from them; be courteous and polite to your
elders; and don't break the law. Sounds basic, doesn't it?

Our dog, Jingles, and I,
in my softball uniform.
I'm 15 in this picture.
I played first base for
about 4 years.

Graduation: June, 1981. THE WORLD WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!!!!

In 1971, my father took me to see a movie that
decided the course of my future. The movie was
"Airport" (the one with Dean Martin and Burt
Lancaster). After that, I was hooked. From then,
I was "Mr. Airplane".
