This picture is taken off the shores of Bamboo Island (Says Boy). Captured here is the traditional long boat enjoying some sun while it glides along the warm sea breeze, caressing the calm crystal waters.

The color ribbons are supposed to bring in good luck. That's not our boat, if you ever wondered. Boy's boat has no ribbon and no life jackets. In case of emergency, our 1-gallon plastic water bottles will come in useful.

That's two of us, doing some underwater beach combing - with our snorkeling gear.

And that's the sea gypsy junior wondering around daddy's prized catch of shrimps.

These friendly sea gypsies are nomadic fishermen who have set up their little temporary village on Bamboo Island with sticks, leaves and modern trash made out of plastics and metal.

The Island is under the protection of Thailand's marine rangers. They have set up a little exhibition corner to educate visitors of the endangered corals/fauna around the island, and its worth a look.
