PUT SOMETHING IN Draw a crazy picture, Write a nutty poem, Sing a mumble-gumble song, Whistle through your comb. Do a loony-goony dance 'Cross the kitchen floor, Pur something silly in the world That ain't been there before. |
MEMORIZIN' MO Mo memorized the dictionary But just can't seem to find a job Or anyone who wants to marry Someone who memorized the dictionary. |
~sigh~ Childhood memories of being read poems from Shel Silverstein's "Where the Sidewalk Ends." I remember my favorite one started "Oh homework, oh homework, Oh how I hate homework!..." Not much has changed since then I guess, huh? :) I just wanted to share some of his poems, and hope that you can get some joy, giggles and fun out of them too. Enjoy! (p.s. I am in no way trying to break copyright laws....I did site him, rite?!?) |

That Dream What is a dream Why does it seem So real and tangible In that dimension Where all the tension Between just melts away And that one is here to stay Waking up to realize It was nothing but lies Longing to return To that world of bliss That perfect kiss What does it all mean All of these dreams? Just a random jumble Of babbling mumble? Is it what your heart Hides from your head? Or is it instead Just a wish your heart makes? |
