Bigger,

Remember two years ago,
a Canadian brother band; The Moffatts have been to Hong Kong
personally. But many girls still know that they visit, and phone the
headlines to ask for their schedule. The Moffatts went to The Peak and
they still followed them. The Moffatts are not very hot in Hong Kong,
but there're still many obedient fans here.
After releasing Chapter One in 98, we've got the latest news of their
newest album. They will first release a single called "Bang Bang
Boom", and they've already started their promotions. I know that
they're in Sweden now. And I found Dave Moffatt for an interview
through the phone.
Everywhere they go, many girls trace after them. Therefore, they use
another name, Peter, when they stay in a hotel. The other line was
connected, and "Peter" was speaking. Oh, I almost asked
wrongly, "Is this Peter?"
Dave spoke in a young and youthful tone. The interview began.
Q: Dave, are you promoting your newest album in Sweden?
D: Yes, and a performance. It's because there's an anniversary
commemoration of a music magazine; we perform for the celebration.
Besides, we do interviews and many different television stations and
press. It's quite busy!
Q: Do you remember that when you visited Hong Kong two years ago, were
there many fans that followed you guys?
D: Sure! At that time, we only went here personally and didn't plan to
promote, but the record company still dispatched some staff to
accompany us. There were so many hot fans chasing us. There were many
of them; they even rented cars to follow us from the Peak to hotel. We
really thank the enthusiasm of our fans!
Q: The single named "Bang Bang Boom", what does the song
represent?
D: This song isn't written by us, and it's about a girl's love, quite
good. We like it very much.
Q: I discovered that the producer is Bob Rock, how do you feel about
him?
D: Many people think of Metallica when they see or hear the name
"Bob Rock", but he actually produced many pop albums. Some
include Bryan Adams, Cher, Bon Jovi... from him, we know how to
change. Harmony pop and rock is much better.
Q: You, Clint and Bob are triplets, do you think you guys have special
tacit understanding?
D: Many people think that. In fact, I think siblings perform on the
same stage already have a sense of perfection, especially on
harmonies. The atmosphere is so comfortable and soft. Although we are
triplets, we are still like general siblings that are very natural and
harmonious. Scott and us are very closed, too.
Q: Why is your nickname "Big D"?
D: Ha, I don't know why... it's just that my mother calls me that. She
said I was the biggest when I was born. That's why.
Q: You have to put on shows and study, how do you allocate your time?
D: We try our best to strive for promoting during the holidays, it
doesn't have any effects towards our academics.
Q: When you released "It's a wonderful world" and "The
Moffatts" in 95 under Polydor, and you were regarded as Country
Music, it's a huge difference from today's pop. What do feel about
that?
D: Of course. In 94, we signed into A&M Company of Nashville,
naturally is regarded as Country. And we liked this style at that
time, as we grow up, it's nothing special in changing our styles.
Therefore when we look back, there's nothing especial indeed, it's
only the process during grow up.
Q: Your parents are singers, are they still developing?
D: Our mother still performs in Canada. Anyway, our father no longer
sings anymore, he's looking after us; however, he's not our manager!
HA!
Q: At last, being a young performer, do you have any advice for the
youngsters who want to enter this career?
D: I hope many of you know this... don't think it's fun to work in
this career, or be famous! It's because you need to very work hard and
spend many time on learning and facing many difference things, it's
not as simple as your imaginations. Therefore, you must prepare
yourself mentality as well!
Dave likes the Beatles, he likes watching the television in leisure;
it's out of the ordinary that his favourite band is Aerosmith;
especially the album, Get A Grip! What a mature Big D!
