I have to admit that before I got there, I didn't have the first clue about what to expect from Florence. All I knew was that there was some museum there that Tatum desperately wanted to see. But I also can say that after being there, I had no regrets about it at all.
The main feature in Florence is El Doumo (pictured left) which was (or is, I can't remember) the largest dome constructed. Either way it is amazingly impressive.
I wish I had taken more pics in Florence, because we had a great time there, just soaking up as much of the atmosphere as we could. One particular night spent at the steps of El Doumo listening to a single guitarist play tunes |

to a small crowd especially stands out. No photo could have captured that night. On the right is a picture from the end of the Galleria degli Uffizi (The museum that Tates wanted to see). Inside is some of the best artwork in the world and it was quite interesting, but I hadn't slept well that night and was easily annoyed that day. So the last thing I needed was to be surrounded by tourists and by the time I had walked through the many rooms in this place, I was only too happy to head somewhere else.
Below is a pic of me on the Ponta del Vechio. A bridge famous because it is lined with gold shops. |

Below is a pic of me on the Ponta del Vechio. A bridge famous because it is lined with gold shops. Another cool place we stumbled across was the Giardino di Boboli, which is this HUGE park...no park doesn't decribe it properly. This place had so many different areas, and all of them were impressive....and just perfect for resting your feet after a long walk such as we had had that day. |
