Rome

OK, the first thing I have to say about Rome is that if you go there DO NOT stay at the Fasano Home Hostel. Crap, dodgey, over-populated and under-facilitated are just the nice things I can say about it! But its wasn't all bad as I met a couple of new friends there. David, a Canadian who had spent the last year in Ireland and had the maddest Irish/Canadian accent you will ever hear! and an American guy who was Travelling with his Mum at the time, but didn't seem to phased about it and was permenantly cheerful. I only wish I could remember his name....sorry mate.
Anyway, me, Tates, and Angela decided that one night in this shit hole was more than enough, so the next day we planned to head out to a H.I hostel the next morning. David tagged along with us and that was how our wee group began to grow.....

The next couple of strays we picked up were Ali (a fellow Kiwi) and Tsyoshi (a japanese guy who was hanging out with Ali at the time). We all bumped into each other and it took our combined powers to find our way to the hostel. But when we got there it was worth it because it was a million times better than the last place!
After checking in at the hostel, we (ALL of us) decided to hit Rome central and started our sight seeing!

One of the first places we discovered in our mindless wanderings was Plazia Paplona. We did have a map, but the map reading duties kept being passed on and we ended up relying on Tsyoshi mostly, even though his english was a bit sketchy!
While we were in the Plazia, me and David saw some people riding these dual-bikes...so we went on a mission to find them. And find them we did! So we hired one and went cruising for chicks in our new stud-mobile....fuck we had a good laugh in that thing! As you can see by the pic on the left, it wasn't the most ...ummm....solid looking thing in the world, but if everyone else treated it the same way as us then I'm surprised it was in one piece at all! Oh yeah, if anyone tells you you can't roll a bike...don't believe them. Trust me on this one! (I think the hand brake helped though!)
