Most MGs are originals but occasionally, a successful car reappears with a new driver.  In this instance, the new driver is co-sponsor of the series and much to his delight, winner of the 2001/2002 series.  Greg Bellingham of Tracer interiors who decided that after sponsoring a Ducati motorcycle team and a Ford Falcon V8 saloon, it was time to have  a go himself, so he bought one of the fastest and best prepared MGB Sports in the country and retained number 39 for it.

Tracer Interiors' V8 Falcon won the NZ V8 series for 2001/2002 but the team were devastated by the untimely death of their star driver, Ashley Stichbury in May 2002 at the tender age of nearly 30.

The race series these days is at Taupo in the central North Island and Pukekohe, a few kms south of Auckland but this car also has a history at Manfeild and even in the south island.
