Lewis E. Farberman

Welcome! Below you will find pictures from my most recent trip -- this time, to Africa.

I spent a bit over two weeks in Zambia where I spent most of my time working as an
Earthwatch volunteer in Kafue National Park.  I was helping a government scientist -- Henry Mwima --
conduct a vegetation survey of the park.  The results of the survey will be used to map the
park, assess its health and assist in game and wildlife management.

After Earthwatch, I travelled to Zimbabwe where I spent a day in Victoria Falls where there is a
waterfall twice the size of Niagara Falls.  I did some whitewater rafting, and then I joined a Natureways
Safari.  I spent about a week canoeing and hiking in Mana Pools, a beautiful national park along the
Zambezi River, a part of the Great Rift Valley.
