A baboon enjoying a morning snack.  We saw lots of these in Mana Pools,
but not so many in Zambia.  They could be very noisy and really didn't like it
when we got to close.  They'd complain bitterly -- from a distance.  They did, however,
help me out one night.  I woke up with a hyena lapping water from a basin just outside
my tent.  Of course, I immediately had to go to the bathroom.  After waiting for the
hyena to leave -- and giving him a good fifteen minutes to wander off -- I was about to
unzip my tent when some baboons started screeching.  I'd learned that that particular screech meant,
"watch out, there's something dangerous around."  I delayed my bathroom visit (with
much consternation) and discovered the next morning that a leopard had been
wandering around camp.
