Commercial Certificate

Privileges: The Commercial Certificate permits pilots, under specific restrictions, to fly aircraft for hire. Although additional training and certification is needed for "Air Taxi" and "Air Carrier" operations, Commercial pilots are entitled to perform a variety of other commercial activities (i.e traffic watch,  agricultural operations...)

Certificate Requirements: Students trained under Part 61 of the Federal Aviation Regulations require a minimum of 250 hours total time. Among other things, applicants need 50 hrs pilot-in-command cross-country, and 10 hrs dual in a "complex" airplane.

Syllabus: Development of the general pilot-in-command skills appropriate to flying passengers for hire. Mastery of the specific maneuvers and skills required for the FAA Commercial checkride.
