FEELING GO - A BIG DRIVE SOUTH

(REMEMBER: IF YOU'RE MENTIONED BY NAME ITS COS I LOVE YOU DEARLY. IF YOU'RE NOT, ITS ONLY TO PROTECT MYSELF IN THE LIBEL COURT)

Due to the inability for the OZ EXPERIENCE to accomodate me for the next four billion weeks, I had to get some alternative transport from Alice Springs to Adelaide, and I happened to chance upon a two 4x4 "Safari", that was almost too cheap to be true. And it was.
For two days, dawn until dusk, me and eight other weary travellers gunned it at an average speed of around 140kph from Alice to Adelaide. Don't get me wrond, it was quite a good trip, and we did get top spend a night in Cuber Pedy, the opal mining town where folk have dug their houses into the ground. Our hostel was hewn out of solid rock too (see pictures). Its just that after the journey I was unable to sit down for two days - my bottom had gone numb from sitting on a bench seat for all that time.

BOTTOM: Me having a Luke Skywalker moment with a prop from film Pitch Black, filmed near Cuber Pedy. As was Mad Max. Well, one of them was.

I had a few days in Adelaide, a quiet unassuming place I think normally. Only my visit there happened to coincided with St Patrick's Day, and the town really went off that night as a result. I did get to catch up with the second most hansome man to attend the AJ2001 Jamboree. You can see us both enjoying a pint with the lovely Nadine.

Tune in same bat time same bat channel to read about the zany antics of myself, a couple of young friends, and the entire undercover division of the fun police along The Great Ocean Road...
