Two pairs of Supplex shorts (elastane-Lycra mix) to keep Rebecca smart and comfortable on the road. After three months of constant use during the trip, here's her verdict.
Used:
1 x Grey Supplex, 1 x blue mini, alternately daily
Performance:
Both rode up during any activity which meant that the blue shorter pair were frequently uncomfortable on the bike. Being longer the Supplex longer pair didn't ride up so far. They also felt much softer and didn't fade despite continual use; being handwashed and often dried in direct sunlight on the back of my bike.
The pads are like felt and I don't feel that they offered as much protection as synthetic chamois and while the pads dried overnight the body of the garment took longer. Though in warm weather it was no problem to put them on damp and wear them till they dried.
Both pairs kept their shape and elasticity very well.
Verdict:
If you are a woman and Lycra isn't your thing and you want to co-ordinate your biking wardrobe, the Supplex design is worth considering.
