Queenstown. A once thriving
mining town which is slowly
being wound down.

was killed with the waste
products of the copper mines,
but is very slowly re-appearing.
The Pieman River. Water from here
is used to generate some of our
electricity. River cruises are available.
Lake Gordon, which is situated at
Strathgordon. Water is used in the
underground power station. Visitors
welcome.
A Huon Pine tree...a much sort after timber.
This particular tree is estimated to be over
2,500 years old.
Maydena. This was once a prospering Logging town until
the late 1980s. Timber was supplied to the Australian
Newsprint Mills.
