Choosing the Best Airfare.
International airfares fall into three categories:
Published Airfares.
These are Airfares that are agreed to by the Airline operating on a particular route. They are negotiated at Government level and allow you to mix airlines.
Airline Confidential Airfares.
These fares are decided on by the individual airlines based on market factors. They are exclusive to that particular airline and rarely, if ever, allow you to mix airlines. They are saleable by the airline direct and through Travel Agents.
Negotiated Airfares.
These are airfares that are negotiated between an airline and a travel agent and are saleable only by that particular travel agency.
