Midwest vacation pictures

Wheeling, West Virginia
A view from Circle Centre Mall in downtown Indianapolis
St. Louis Arch -- Gateway to "Westward Expansionism"
Risking death, atop a 30-foot wall,
I twisted and contorted my body in an arc motif,
thus replicating the magnificent Arch.
Note how the stripes on my shirt
mimic the vertical pattern of the wall.
Truly an exceptional example of "life imitating Arch."
Cate and me (not a good hair day) on the Mississippi
View from inside the top of the Arch
We crowded into these little tram pods to
get to the observation deck at the top.
That little girl was frightened -- not of
the dangerous climb, but of Cate.
A Martinesque View!
St. Louis and Busch Stadium
Cate fiercely fights Mr. Tooth Decay.
This is Cate's Cherokee ancestral home at Spring Place, GA.
The house was stolen from Cate's great-great grandfather, Chief
Joseph Vann, by the Georgia and federal governments in 1832.
Pictured above Cate is Chief Vann.
