Central Government employees irate over airfare reductionNEW DELHI: The Central Government Employees Federation (CGEF) today held demonstrations in North Block and submitted a letter of protest to the Civil Aviation Minister to make immediate arrangements to stop airfare reduction. Board examination pass rates reach all-time high; task force being set upCHENNAI: The speakers at the State Education Ministers Conference in progress here today expressed their strong concern about the burgeoning pass rate in board examinations. The pass inflation rate presently stands at 8.6%. At this rate, percentage of students passing board examinations would cross 100% as early as next year in almost all the state board examinations. In their zeal to show improvement in education, states have been competing to outdo each other in pass rates. Some ministers, however, insisted on retaining a pass rate of more than 100%. The Ministry of Human Resources has agreed to setup a task force to tackle this issue. Home Page |
