LOCATION

The Central Market (Pasar Payang to the locals) Situated close to the junction of Jalan Bandar and Jalan Kota the heartbeat of the town is a conglomeration of both a wet market and a shopping complex that sells textiles-mostly traditional textiles like batik, songket woven with gold and silver threads and various other sorts of cultural attire, jewelry, ornamentation and various other Kelantanese paraphernalia. Kelantan Central Market is also a popular spot for photography buffs and shoppers alike.

ATTRACTION
Witnessing local farmers offering their wares straight to the consumers are a norm here, providing a considerable amount of >options for great bargains. The first two levels provide those wanting for healthy and nutritional food while there are also stalls selling various Malaysian cuisine where one can eat there and enjoy the busy bustle of the farmers and traders going about their business.

ACTIVITIES

This popular wet market selling fish, meat, vegetables, cakes, spices, sweetmeats, preserved food, dried seafood, fresh fruits and Kelantanese cuisine. Keropok lekor, a local delicacy made from fish and sago, is a favorite among tourist and locals alike. The vigorous smell, the exuberant colors, the hubbub, the abundant variety of goods sold, and the dynamic entrepreneurship of the women traders give the central market a unique character. This is the only place one can view such an extravagant street market.

The third level is a shopping paradise for those who like to purchases local Kelantanese handicrafts. There is a lot of cultural weaving, bags, pottery Kelantanese artistry, which can be purchased here at reasonable price. Near the central market is the Bamboo Fort Bazaar, a three storey shopping complex, which offers good buys in souvenirs, knick knacks, local batik, songket and wau (giant kites)
