Owning Resort Rental properties

Siesta Key is a favorite place of mine to stay at when I'm vacationing in the Tropics!! It's located on the intimate Southern end of Siesta Key, a popular Florida barrier island, about 75 miles South of Tampa. What I want to talk to you about is how I manage to stay there often FOR FREE! (Or almost).

As you may have guessed, I'm from freezing COLD Michigan. I got interested in Florida many years ago, and started looking for a place in the sun that I could call my own. I started looking at Condos in the $35,000 range. Tried to figure out how much they would cost, mortgage payments, condo fees, you know, just how much would it cost me monthly to own my place in the sun - where I could get away from the ENDLESS GRAY SKY! of a Michigan winter!

Well, the place I ended up buying cost me considerably more than $35,000 - many times that amount, yet, it's turning out to be one of the best investments that I've ever made.

This little Gulf of Mexico Condo unit is well on its way to paying for itself, while giving me a few sun filled weeks a year to stay there, free.

The 925' private beach is outstanding for swimming, sunning, walking, and shelling. There's a heated pool and shuffleboard to further fill your carefree days.

If you're a boater, you're free to rent (nearby) or bring your own boat or PWC for unparalleled cruising, fishing, and exploring the Dolphin and Manatee filled waterway. Three popular restaurants and a secluded shady Park and Beach (Turtle Beach) are but a short walk away.

But hey, I'm getting ahead of myself here! If you haven't guessed, investing in Real Estate is a passion of mine. I can't think of a better way to mix business with pleasure, plus build up something for your old age, (a place where I'm beginning to see more clearly each day)!

 

Are we talking "Timeshares" here?

But first, lets get one thing straight, I'm NOT TALKING ABOUT TIMESHARES!

"Timeshares" are not owning Real Estate - they're just lifetime commitments to monthly fees on a place you'll soon be tired of, and never be able to sell (or otherwise get your hard earned money out of)! (Because you don't actually own any land, you only own a kind of lifetime contract to rent a place, a contract that has little value to anyone else not exposed to the high pressure sales pitches that convinced you).

Anyway, I going to try to put together my thoughts on fun investing in resorts here at my new Web Site. Investing in Condo units that are then rented out by a professional onsite staff for you for a reasonable percent of your profits. Condo units that increase in value every year and are very easy to sell and get your money out of ...(in fact, people are on waiting lists to purchase the good rental Condos!).

And by the way, I do not work in Real Estate, it's only my hobby. I have no interest in trying to make any money here at this Web Site, only meet a few folks who are also interested in this type of investing, and continuing to learn about more of these "Gold Mine" rental Condos!

It won't happen overnight, but if this is the kind of thing you might be interested in to, you should drop by from time to time and see how I'm doing.

1
