Thank you for visiting my site. Hope you enjoyed it so far! But now - finally - some holiday-pictures! This time: one of my favourite destinations, Florida (Sorry, no beach-chicks today, but who knows ... just visit again!)
A famous gathering of Florida pelicans on Cedar Key (aerial sight see above) in 1989. Pelli Seaglider (front-speaker) spoke up against overfishing by tourists (without distributing at least a part of the catch to the attending birds) and neglect by carelessly leaving used hooks (but not a trace of the catch!) behind.
This formidable house, usually known as the Banyan House, can be found in Key West. As it is situated not very far away from Hemingways home, rumour has it that ole Ernest frequently didn't bother to take a rest right here while rolling home from  Sloppy Joe's. But if there are lots of places like this in Key West, there are even more rumours!
A typical schoolbus in St. Augustine, which has come to be known as the oldest town in the U.S. We got assurances however that the bus was much younger! The bus itself was famous for being called the "Last bus to St. Augustine" and that exactly  should have been the title of  a new song with "The Monkees" in the Sixties. However, as it happened to be, the Monkees - in a last-minute-turn - decided to call their new single album "Last train to Clarksville" and - as we know today - it indeed then became a smash hit! Disappointed, the St. Augustiners left their bus for good and bought their own cars. Playing "Last train to Clarksville" on these cars stereos was not outright forbidden, but highly discouraged!
What could be more perfect for ending a short picture-story of FL than sitting at Mallory Square / Key West watching the sun going down while crunching salty popcorn and having no beer? So goodbye to you all now. Come back and visit again!
