World Famous Waikiki Beach actually consists of several smaller beaches and stretches most of the length of Waikiki. The beach spans from the back of several major hotels all the way on down to Kapiolani Park.
Waikiki Beach is known all the world over and attracts millions of tourists each year. It is rich in legacy. During the 30s and 40s Hawai'i "Beachboys" made their names on the shores of Waikiki. A majority of Hawai'i's "touristy" image is derived from the days of noted beachgoers like "Steamboat Mokuahi" and the legendary Duke Kahanamoku, an Olympic gold medalist. To this day, Duke Kahanamoku's statue stands at the foot of Waikiki Beach, a landmark for all.
