Popular Waimea Bay

Waimea Bay is legendary within the world of Surfing. This scenic surf spot is located on O'ahu's North Shore. The views on the drive out there alone are worth the journey in addition to the awesome waves.

This is a popular surf spot for visitors and locals alike. It is also the scene of many of Hawai'i's popular surf competitions.

Note of Caution!!!

O'ahu's North Shore is treacherous for its high winter waves. Children should not be allowed into the water unsupervised, if at all. Novice surfers are advised in advance of potential danger surfing on North Shore beaches.

Also, do not leave any valuables in your car or be seen placing any in your trunks. Thefts are very common anywhere, Hawai'i is no exception.

Directions

If you're driving out of Waikiki to Waimea Bay you need to get onto the H-1 West. Stay on H-1 West in your right hand lane and take the H-2 cut off. Stay on H-2 and it will eventually merge into Kam. Highway. Stay on Kam Highway until you see Waimea Bay on your left.

If you're taking the bus, you need to get back to Ala Moana by catching the #8, 19 or 20 or 47. Transfer to the #52 Wahiawa Circle Island Bus. Ask the driver to let you off at Waimea Bay. .
