Historic Aloha Tower

History of Aloha Tower

Aloha Tower sits at the foot of Honolulu Harbor and for years has been the Hawaiian equivalent of New York's "Statue of Liberty." It has welcomed seafarers to O'ahu for over 100 years. During the heyday of travel by boat seafarers would be greeted by Hawaiian girls with leis at the Aloha Tower as they got off their boats. Travelers would also be sent off in a similar fashion. Bands would perform at the Tower as boats came in and out of the harbor.
