Located in Kalihi the Bishop Museum is the greatest resource for information on traditional Hawaiian culture and Hawaiian history. The museum has an extensive collection of artifacts on Hawaiian culture including tools, musical instruments, and weapons. The museum also displays artifacts of the Hawaiian royalty such as their capes. Another feature of the museum is its planetarium.
Throughout the year the museum grounds is often the site of various community carnivals and fairs.
The museum is open daily from 9am to 5pm.

If you're driving out of Waikiki to the Bishop Museum get on the H-1 West. Stay on the H-1 West till you see the "Houghtailing" cut off. Take the cutoff and stay in your right hand lane. Turn right until you see
If you're taking the bus, you can catch the #2 on Kuhio Avenue. It will pass by the Bishop Museum.
