Chinatown

Chinatown

There's always action going on in Chinatown. In the heart of Downtown Honolulu you'll find Chinatown which occupies several blocks. In Chinatown you'll find a variety of shops and markets with tons of exotic goods. Island residents love to shop for groceries in Chinatown because of it's bargain prices. You'll also find dozens of Chinese restaurants, noodle and dim sum shops in Chinatown. Within Chinatown is a statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, leader of the Chinese Nationalist party who was at one time a Hawai'i resident.

During Chinese New Year's the streets of Chinatown are full of activity with lion dances and fireworks. It goes without saying that there is always action going on in Chinatown.

Directions

Because of difficult parking you'll probably want to take the bus to Chinatown. On Kuhio Avenue board the #2 or 13 bus. Get off by the Mac Donald's in downtown and walk a block toward the ocean to King Street. Ask the driver to let you off near Chinatown.
