Historic Kawaiha'o Church sits on the corner of King and Punchbowl streets. It is less than a block and visible from both the Kamehameha Statue and 'Iolani Palace.
The church was established back in the 1800s by American Missionaries. The church became adopted as the church of the Ali'i (Hawaiian Royalty) and is still seen as a church for the the upper class.
The church grounds do have a graveyard. One of the prominent graves on site is that of King William Lunalilo, the 6th monarch of the Hawaiian Kingdom.
If you're driving out of Waikiki to Kawaihao Church you may drive 'Ewa bound on Kalakaua Avenue until it merges with Ala Moana Blvd. Stay on Ala Moana Blvd in your right hand lane till you reach Punchbowl St. At the intersection of Punchbowl and King Street is Kawaihao Church. The Church will be on your right.
If you're taking the bus, you can catch the #2, 3 and 4. They will all pass through downtown and Kawaihao Church.
