A favorite tourist destination on O'ahu is the Polynesian Cultural Center located in the town of La'ie on O'ahu's North Shore. The PCC is owned by Hawai'i's Mormon Church. A majority of the entertainers and workers attend the neighboring Hawai'i Campus of Bringham Young University.
The Polynesian Cultural Center contains various exhibits and shows that expose visitors to Polynesian culture. As an example the Center contains simulated real life villages of seven Polynesian cultures including: Tahiti, Tonga, Samoa, New Zealand, Fiji, the Marquesas and Hawai'i. Within the villages natives will demonstrate such skills craftmaking, cloth making, and house building. They'll also give presentations on transoceanic sailing, perform war dances and hold wedding ceremonies.
Depending on the tour you buy you may also get to watch one of two videos at the PCCs IMAX Theatre. Among the shows you may watch are "The Living Sea" or "Polynesian Odyssey." "Polynesian Odyssey" recounts the discovery of the Polynesian islands. Also, depending on the package you buy you may also be treated to either a lu'au or buffet and the highly acclaimed "Horizons" night show.

If you're driving out of Waikiki to the PCC you can go one of two ways.
The first way is by heading out on the H-1 West and staying on it till you come to the H-2 cut off. Take the H-2 cut off and stay on it till you merge with Kamehameha Highway. Follow Kam. Highway all the way across the North Shore till you end up in La'ie. The PCC will be on your right hand side.
The second way to go on H-1 West and go through Kane'ohe via either the H-3, Pali Highway or Wilson Tunnels. Stay on Kamehameha Highway once you get on it and follow it up North till you hit La'ie. The PCC will be on your left hand side.
If you're taking the bus, you can need to get back to Ala Moana by catching either the #8, 19, 20 or 47. Transfer at Ala Moana onto the #55 Kane'ohe Circle Island route. Ask the driver to let you off at the Polynesian Cultural Center.
