A popular tourist destination on O'ahu's North Shore is Waimea Adventure Park. This attraction has several features.
On the sightseeing side visitors are treated to seeing the breath taking Waimea Falls where graceful cliff divers will leap from atop the Falls to the pool below. The park also has traditional Hawaiian recreational games set-up such as ulu maika (rock bowling) and 'ihe pahe'e (spear sliding). There are also Hawaiian craft demonstrations, hula shows and lessons. Guided tours of the park are also available. Within the park is a vast collection of native plants, birds and animals which alone may well be worth the price of admission.
On the adventure side visitors are treated to hiking, horse back riding, mountain biking, ATV landroving or kayaking through Waimea Valley. The newest feature is Jungle Trek where visitors can explore a jungle maze via a radio-controlled Jungle Mobile.
The park is open daily from 10am till 5:30pm. You may call either (808) 973-9825 or 1-800-973-9200 for more information.
