There are many small stalls and sidewalk vendors where you can obtain snacks or a complete meal. Most Chinese prefer a hot meal of noodles or congee (rice porridge) or steamed bread with various fillings for their breakfast.

There are a few restaurants that serve Dim Sum for breakfast and lunch. Much of the food is served in small bamboo containers and brought around to the tables on a trolley from where you can make your choice.
