Before BS3, there was a rivalry already between Mark and Scother, both creatures were creating opposing alliances, and both were making remarks to each other on the board. It came as no surprise when Mark’s alliance attacked Scother. Scother was also the target of a poisoning in another email, received after his death.

Prior to the beginning of BS3, after the gambling was banned, Mark gave everyone 468,620 gp. This later came back to haunt him as someone hired the most expensive poisoner to kill him, something that person may not have been able to do, or may have not done if Mark had not given away so much money.

Mark’s death was unusual in the fact it was orchestrated by one of his allies, Swiftstrike Streambattle, who had two alliances in BS3.

Fun Fact: Mark’s death was ordered in five separate emails from five different people on the first day of BS3.

Shadow was the unfortunate victim of her allies’ attack on Scother and his ally Roseline. Oddly enough, Goldpaw was on both sides of this attack and therefore could not take part in the battle.

Fun Fact: On day one, I received this long hit list to assassinate from one player, who was already dead before his email arrived: Fleetpaw Brockblood Swiftslash Mysty Brandon Shadow Maplepaw Augustine Celandine Treerose Sabriel Brandon Maplepaw Shadow MARK MARK

Also on day one, Fleetpaw attempted to have Frostfur assassinated.

When I thought day one was odd enough, Brandon’s death was also orchestrated by one of his former allies, Swiftstrike Streambattle, who had just broken off one of his two alliances in BS3.

Brandon had obviously caught on to Swiftstrike’s scheme, because just after I received Swiftstrike’s email to kill him, Brandon sent me one to poison Swiftstrike. The double crossing was becoming rather interesting.

At the end of the first day, Mark’s will stated that Slagar’s Bolas and his plate mail should be passed down to Sabriel, and so it was.

Fun Fact: After the first day, an anonymous player began posting as “DEAD” with disturbing messages. DEAD was Scother.

On day two, Cliff assassinated Fleetscut the hare.

Maplepaw attacked Treeclimber, who was under matched weapon wise. Maplepaw killed Treeclimber in the sneak attack, but Treeclimber did manage to slay Maplepaw’s mercenary.

Sabriel, one of Swiftstrike’s former allies, had also obviously caught on to Swiftstrike’s scheme. Just after Brandon died, Sabriel, his ally sent me one to kill Swiftstrike. Sabriel attempted to assassinate Swiftstrike three times and tried to poison him twice. The second poisoner managed to slip in undetected while Swiftstrike and his allies were fighting off the three assassins. The first poisoner was caught and killed.

Goldpaw and his allies Roselin and Sabriel slaughtered Mysty. There were three other emails to attempt to kill Mysty sent that day.

Sabriel hired 3 assassins to kill Augustine and two to kill Snowpaw on this day. Each of the targets was killed in one blow. Their allies were helpless against so many foes who seemed to be coming from nowhere all at once.

Fleetpaw’s mercenary foiled Sabriel’s attempt to assassinate Fleetpaw.

Sabriel also had Celandine assassinated, and was behind the scheme that failed to assassinate Roselin. Sabriel was also the mastermind of the assassinations of Swiftslash and Maplepaw. Swiftslash was killed by three assassins, all hired by Sabriel.

After a being forced to take day off on my birthday, I resumed BS3 action late on day four. The first email was from Brockblood, saying to “send assassins to attack Dotti, Fleetpaw, Goldpaw, Treerose, Roselin, Sabriel, Cliff, and Frostfur.”

Brockblood’s attempt on Dotti failed, killing her mercenary instead. Brockblood’s attempt on Fleetpaw succeeded, killing the hare. Brockblood’s attempt on Goldpaw failed, his ally Roselin killed the assassin. Brockblood’s attempt on Treerose failed, her mercenary killed the assassin. Brockblood’s attempt on Roselin succeeded, she died with no potion to save her. He ally Goldpaw had 59 potions, but you cannot share items. Goldpaw could have, however, given Roselin a potion prior to the attack, but not during or after. Brockblood’s attempt on Sabriel failed, her plate armor saved her life. Brockblood’s attempt on Cliff failed, his mercenary died however. Brockblood’s attempt on Frostfur succeeded.

On the fifth day of BS3, Goldpaw was found poisoned. His poisoning would be the last in BS3, ordered by Dotti.

Fun Fact: Pawflash miscounted the number of remaining players, forgetting to mention Sabriel in his post “Down to Five.”

Dotti was the last player to be assassinated. I made the error of telling her she was one of the final four, when I actually miscounted. Sorry, Dotti.

Now the playing field was down to four, and only all out battles would decide the winner.

Fun Fact: One BS3 player ordered the assassination of Fleetpaw by using 1,000 assassins. The email was received just prior to Fleetpaw’s death, but the email that got her killed had been sent a day or more earlier.

Treerose attacked Sabriel the wildcat. Cliff, who was both of the players’ ally, could not participate in the battle. Though Treerose and her mercenary put up a great fight, and nearly won it in the end, Sabriel’s weapon, Slagar’s Bolas made all the difference.

Now, as the playing field is reduced to the final three, Brockblood needs to do something drastic to sway the tides of battle, as Sabriel and Cliff are the last remaining allies, in a battle season where allies have meant so much. If he can’t defeat Cliff and Sabriel, it should be a great final battle between the two, game long, allies.

Brockblood put up a great fight, but Sabriel and her ally had him outmatched in the final three battle. It was Cliff’s ballista that provided the power to allow Sabriel to finish off her opponent in a gruesome display of blood and gore. Now it was certain, the final battle was going to go down in history, one way or another.

The final battle was nothing short of spectacular, see it here.
