BS5 Finale

Dotti and Bella, badger vs. badger. The storm had passed, and when it cleared only two were left standing. Dotti and Bella. With a flick of their wrists, each extended their blade claws with the sweet sound of the blades flicking through the air. With determination in their eyes, each drew her own crossbow. Bella's was spectrical and Dotti's rapid. With a pull of the trigger, two arrows zipped through the air.
Bella drew shield instinctively and met the arrow as Dotti dove to the side. Dotti fired off three more arrows as she was falling, two the missed and one more that buried into the shield. Bella drew her battle axe and charged as Dotti fired off seven more arrows. Two missed, three were blocked, one found it's mark.
Bella continued her charge, slashing out violently with her axe, just to be met by Dotti's mace. Bella's mercenary quickly administered to Bella's arrow wound and retreated back into safety. Dotti gave the mercenary but a quick glance…she'd save her for later.
Dotti's mace bet Bella's axe time after time, until finally it found Bella's paw. The battle axe was knocked from Bella's grasp as she flinched at the bone crunching blow.
With the advantage going for her, Dotti took one more fierce blow, hitting the side of the shield and sending it spinning off, the hold strap had snapped, now just leather in Bella's paw.
Bella's blade claws met Dotti's and the fast pace battle sped up. Slash left, parry right; the beasts were quick as a flash. Who would have known that such large beasts as badgers could be so swift? The blade claws clanked off each other, time and time again, each beast as skillful as the other in the weapon's wielding.
As it continued, Bella was gaining the upper paw. She was forcing her enemy backwards; Dotti was retreating step by step. They made their way over in the direction where Bella's shield had flown. Bella had not seen where the shield went, but Dotti had. She wasn't retreating, but rather strategizing.
Dotti's footpaw finally hit the cold metal of the shield, covered by green leaves thanks to the summertime wind. With a stomp of her footpaw on the shield's rounded edge, the shield came erect and into Dotti's grasp. She grabbed it tight and swung out with such force, that the surprised and stunned Bella collapsed to the ground under the blow.
Bella spat out one tooth that the blow had jarred loose, and with a grimace blocked Dotti's next blow. With a kick of her footpaw, Bella relieved Dotti of the shield. Bella's mercenary drew close, to administer to the wound, but when she was four steps away Dotti quickly drew a javelin off her back and threw. Her aim was good and she found her mark.
The mercenary's eyes flew open wide, as she looked at the javelin growing out of her side. She collapsed to the ground and spoke to her employer, "Avenge my death."
Bella had drawn her next weapon, a weapon of might. Her flaming axepike would be enough to finish this battle. Dotti stayed with her blade claws, knowing no axepike could ever get near to their speed.
With a sweep of the massive axepike, Bella delivered a blow. One paw's blade claws came out to meet the axepike's great blade, as the other one went into Bella's side and ripped down to her upper thigh.
The axepike cut straight through Dotti's claws and melted the blades, continuing on to cut off Dotti's left leg. With a flail of her arm, and one last yelp, Dotti threw her mace at Bella's unprotected skull.
Bella tried to duck, but they were so close she had no time, and was knocked out cold by the mace's harsh blow.
Dotti used a healing potion, sealing off her now amputated leg, and she crawled over to where Bella lay. She raised her blade claw high, ready to dive into Bella's heart.
With a scream of despair Dotti collapsed onto Bella, as one paw reached for the dagger that stuck out from her neck. So the cold of death set in on Dotti, or it could have been the chill of the blade. She tilted her head, devoid of all strength to see Bella's mercenary draw her last breath as well.
Bella woke up under Dotti's dead corpse, and looked to her mercenary who likewise was dead, knowing from the dagger in Dotti's neck she was faithful until the end. "Good friend, you avenged your own death." With tears in her eyes, Bella look at the two and thought of the many others who had gone before them.
