Twelve Days of Redwall
On The 12th Day Of Redwall My True Love Gave To Me,
12 Vermin Fleeing,
11 Sparrows Swooping,
10 Dibbuns Playing,
9 Otters Swimming,
8 White Hares Eating,
7 Moles A Digging,
6 Chefs A Cooking,
5 Mossflower Trees,
4 Hotroot Soups,
3 Snoring Elders,
2 Abbey Bells,
And A Squirrel Stuck In A Tree.
'Twas the Night Before Christmas...
Twas the night before christmas,
And all through the abbey,
Only one creature awake
Looking quite shabby.
An old squirrel was he,
With a warrior son,
Who at that moment was away
In Salamandastron!
Yet his grandchildrens' forms
Lay soundly asleep,
While the grandfather got presents,
Without a peep!
His name was Clearwater,
A former rogue.
And across his room,
He quietly strode.
To dish out some presents,
To his own kin,
Matthias and Tpaw and
Treeclimber herein.
Out in the corridor,
Beside this room
Stood the old abbot,
Leaning on a broom.
His old face crinkled
Into a fond smile,
This present giving only happens
Once in a while!
His name was Pawflash,
A kindly creature,
And his wisdom
Was his best feature.
In another room was a badger,
Snoring at peace.
Wise mother Bella,
Who’s troubles did cease.
The abbey he loved,
And all creatures within
Were happy and contented
And pleased with him.
Twas the night before Christmas,
And all around the walls,
Ancestors of old
Smiled down on us all.

Drum roll, please. The best "Twelve Days of Redwall" submission goes to....Flashtail Ruffalo Aldanick! The best "Night Before Christmas" submission goes to......Treerose! Both receive 50 points for their winning submissions, written below:
Twelve Days of Redwall By: Flashtail Ruffalo Aldanick On the Twelfth Day of Redwall my true love gave to me,
Twelve yelling dibbuns, Eleven Bees a buzzing, Ten Badger Lords leaping, Nine Door Mice dancing, Eight Haremaids running, Seven Pike a swimming, Six Cormorants a resting, Five golden shields, Four cawing Crows, Three hot scones, Two javelins, And a Squirrel in a pine tree.
T'was the night before Christmas...
By: Treerose
T’was the night before Christmas, when all through the abbey,
Not a beast was stirring, not even a dibbun;
The food was laid out in cavern hole with care,
In hopes that a badger mother would soon be there;
The abbey dwellers were all snug in their beds,
While visions of hares danced in their heads;
And with Pawflash the squirrel abbot in his cap,
Had just settled for a long winter’s nap;
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
The abbot sprang from his bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window Pawflash dashed,
Tore open the curtains and punched out the glass.
The stained glass pieces on the breast of the new fallen snow.
Gave a sparkle of different colors to the pond below,
When, what to Paw's wandering eyes should appear,
But a large cart, accompanied by hares and coming near,
With a big female badger, eyes so full of luster,
Paw knew in a moment it must be the abbey mother.
More rapid than any squirrel Pawflash bounded out and came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called the abbey beasts by name;
"Now abbey dwellers! Come Sabriel! Come Brandon and Fleetpaw!
Run SwiftStrike! Run Treeclimber! On, Mysty and Goldpaw!
To the top of the battlements!! to the top of the walls!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!”
As an arrow so true and fast fired from a bow,
The abbey members sprinted to the steps in a row,
So up to the wall battlements they flew,
With a tray full of food and the dibbuns too.
And then, in a twinkling,
Paw heard on the battlements, several cart accompanying hares, settling food arguments.
As he went to welcome them, and was glancing around,
Up the battlements Melanius came with a bound.
She was dressed all in green, from head to foot paw,
And her tunic was ripped and jagged like saws;
A bundle of logs she had flung on her back,
Made her look like a big shabby closet rack.
Her eyes-how they twinkled! Her smile-how merry!
Her nose was like an olive; her cheeks like berries!
Her droll little mouth creased in a smile,
You can see that her grin is as wide as a mile!
She had a broad face and a big round belly,
That shook, when she laughed, like a bowl of jelly;
“Hello” she said, and waved to everybeast
“Why not celebrate Christmas tomorrow by having a feast?”
Loud cries of joy rent the night air;
Melanius curtsied with a fancy flair,
“We’ll start preparing for the feast tonight,
But before that, I want everybeast out of my sight!”
Footpaws pounded, voices chattered;
Except for the feast, nothing mattered!
When Redwallers had gone back into the abbey,
Melanius covered her shoulders with a blanket so shabby;
She faced the woodlands, over the battlements she dare not fall,
And whispered, “Merry Christmas to everybeast, one and all.”
