Polish Airlines LOT has suspended the Warsaw-Bangkok-Warsaw service as from 3 May 2000.
The route was used by passengers between the two countires, but also by Australians as an easy method of travelling to Poland. It was the only 1 stop connection to Poland from Australia. As a result of the suspension, passengers from Australia flying to Poland via Asia, will now have two stops, in Asia and in another European city, before travelling to Poland.

The suspension of the Bangkok service, means that LOT has no flights to Asia, and Bangkok is the last LOT destination in Asia to be axed, after Bombay, Dehli, Singapore and Beijing were suspended in previous years
