Hello everyone!  As usual, it's been a while since I have updated this page.  Well, as most of you that would check this sit out know by now:  Juliana and I are now ENGAGED!  Please refer to her as my "fiancee" from now on!  (That's French for "taken" ;-)!  All the men in her office and at the gym we both go to are crying tears of sorrow, and all my friends are wondering how I did it...  What on earth could she see in me?  Others also see this as a ray of hope for them ("if even Michael can get engaged, then there's hope for me too!")

Well, all kidding aside, we are both very much in love, and thrilled to have committed to a lifetime together, and we both feel like we are the "winners"
in this.  That's a great feeling.

The engagement was a momentous occassion that, fortunately, came as a big surprise for Juliana.  She was sure that I would wait until the last minute
of the unofficial deadline that she placed on me (June 9).

I proposed to her on the top of a mountain in "Joshua Tree National Park". The setting was spectacular - we had a great view of the desert and the
valley (see attached picture), and once she said "YES!" we spent the rest of the day touring the National Park, before heading over to a breathtaking
resort in Desert Springs, CA where we  spent the night.  The resort was a great place for Juliana to begin to overcome her shock.  We had a fantastic
dinner celebration(which included a nice boat ride through the hotel to the restaurant) and it finally began to hit us!   Check out the ENGAGEMENT link below for pictures.

Anyway, no wedding date set or anything like that yet, so for now, it's all the joy without any of the planning concerns!

I hope that you are all doing well, and look forward to hearing from you!

All the best,

Michael (& Juliana)
