Well, as many of you have probably heard already, my trip had many extreme highs and lows. The positive highlights of the trip were going to Martin and Sandra's wedding in Barcelona(click on this for details, or go to banner below) and visiting my family in Israel. I got to see my new cousin, Tomer as well as the rest of my family:
My grandmother and her 3 grandsons!
Tomer's Bris...
The negative highlight of the trip, was that right after the wedding, on the second day of my parents and my car trip to Denmark, our car got stolen in Avignon along with everything in it: passports, tickets, my computer, clothing, address books etc. It was awful. The car was recovered 7 days later, but our stuff is lost (including my camera with my graduation photos and Martin's wedding photos).
The theft meant that instead of travelling through Europe, we went immediately to my father's cousin's home in Belgium and used that as a place from which to process our new tickets, visas, passports, file police reports, get new licence plates, etc. We are fortunate to have such wonderful family in Belgium, as they made the ordeal much much easier! It was good to feel at home. Thank you Marc and Nora!
During the paper processing, I did manage to go to Paris for a weekend where I was hosted by 3 friends: Sophie Bolon, Ann Marie Revol, and Eric Daugan. They all made sure that I had a great time in Paris, so it was truly fun. I also got to see Brian & Rachel there, fresh from their recent engagement! Congratulations!
Once we recovered the car, we were able to take an abbreviated version of our original trip through Europe. We focused on France and Germany and really had a great time. Here's a picture of my parents in front of a Castle in Germany:
