We stayed on a live aboard whose operation was based in Cairns. I can't say too much about the diving there as our time was limited and we didn't get to travel to the more distant sites where the diving is supposed to be better. But we certainly did have fun. That was also where we did our advance training.
Cairns is a quiet little town if you are used to the hustle and bustle of Asia. I mean, you go out at 5.00 pm and practically everything is closed!
But we did get to go white water rafting there....... and I was almost made to swallow a fly!
