Nannie's paternal great grandparents were John Raisbeck and his wife Jane Bainbridge.  John was born on 1803 in Bamar, Isle of Man, England.  He died in 1873.  Jane Anne was born sometime in 1803.  She died in 1878.  She and John were masrried April 23, 1823.  They had twelve children.

        They left England on a sailing ship with 9 of the kids on their trip to New Diggings.  Jane must have baeen a great woman tosurvive a trip like that.  Just imagine things like diapers, meals, taking a bath, who sleeps where, sea sickness, the fear of one of the kids falling overboard!!!  It probably took about two to three weeks and seemed like two to three years.

        Nannie's maternal ancestors begin with Joseph Pedelty (Pedley) and Elizabeth Carton.  They wer John Pedelty's parents but we have no other information about them.  William Spensely (Spensley)
and Rachell Pratt were the parents of John's wife, Nannie.  Unfortunately, we know nothing about them either.  We do know that John Pedelty (Pedley) died sometime before 1860 but we do not know when he was born.  Nannie was born April 5, 1787and died before 1850.  She and John were married on January 5, 1808 in Grinton, Yorkshire, England.  Nannie and John were the parents of twelve children.

        One of them, Catherine, married John Ralph Miller (Milner).  Catherine was born in Swaledale, Yorkshire, England on October 25, 1825.  She died November 26, 1912.  John Ralph was born July 6, 1819 in Gunnerside, Yorkshire, England.  He died on May 5, 1888.  Catherine and John Ralph were married on February 20, 1844.
