. I left Aklan when I was about 10 years old.  Ever since then, my family and I always visit  Aklan once or twice a year.
I could not go to different places because my parents were very particular about going anywhere , but Aklan.  They feel that it is safer for me just to be in the vicinity of Kalibo. As I grew older, I wanted to experience and visit different places in the Visayas.  I had the opportunity last year so I took several family members and journeyed on to
Bacolod.

The first thing we needed to do was to get to the city of IloIlo. From then on, we took the SuperFerry to the city of Bacolod. The boat ride was a little less than two hours. When we got to the port of Bacolod, we had to take a taxi to my cousin's cousin's place. Does that make sense? Well, for those who have a large extended family, you know what I mean. After a couple of turn here and there, we finally reached the house.  Of course, we got lost but what the hay!  It's an adventure, right?

We waited for a while for cousin Cherry's cousin to come and take us on a tour around Bacolod.  When he came, we jumped on an owner (which was pretty cool, I may add). At first, I was not excited because it seems just like a regular city.  Until we came to a restaurant/karaoke bar called "Kama-kama". I have never seen or experienced anything like this.  Everything about the restaurant is mundane except for the waiters, singers, and dancers.  All of them were dwarfs! Some were dancing to the beat of "Lambada" and some were singing to the tune of Matt Monro. It was a truly magical evening with the kama-kama, one that I will never forget.

Bacolod city offers more than just smiles. It's difficult for me to enumerate all that transpired during my short stay in Bacolod. I just thought I'd share one of my unique experiences there. Visit the links on the left for more information about the city.

I know Bacolod is not part of Aklan, but I thought I add it anyway since I visited the place and it's worth my effort to add the links here.
