Annapurna
Areas
Circumnavigating the Annapurna range, with
a distance of about 322 kilometers, This trek is very beautiful for its mountain
scenery and trekking challenges through a cross section on Nepal. The trek
starts with a overland journey to Besisahar and then follows the Marshyangdi
River, through green fields of paddy and banana groves, into oak and pine
forests, eventually emerging into high desert country, at Manang (3,597 m.) From
a high camp you will cross Thorong la (5,416 m.) and descend to Muktinath
one of the holiest pilgrimage sites for Buddhists and Hindus, passing through
Kagbeni, a historic furriers town. The trail follows the Kaligandaki River
valley to Jomsom, Marpha and Tatopani, eventually leading out of the river
valley to Ghorepatni. Finally to Pokhara via Ghandrung, Tolka and Hyanja. This
trek gives you ample opportunity to observe the culture and life style of at
least a half dozen ethnic groups, an exposition more than any other trek in
Nepal. Although this trek does not have a many ups and downs, nor the protracted
stay at high altitude, as in the Khumbu trips, but crossing the Thorong La is
required to acclimatize and to have excellent physical
fitness.

Manaslu
Trek
This area was closed of a long time for
foreigners, because of its approximate to the Chinese border. It has recently
been for trekking; never the less trekking in the region around Manaslu is a
lifetime's experience. The trails are relatively empty of tourists, the culture
and traditions of the people are intact, and the scenery is
magnificent.
This trek follows a route that has long
been covered by Himalayan buffs, going north behind Himalchuli (7,893 m.)
Peak 29 (7,835 m.) and Mt. Manaslu (8,118 m.) It explores villages
where westerners are still a rare sight and the way of life unchanged for
decades, even centuries. Starting from Gorkha (the ancestral home of the
Nepalese monarchy and of the famous Nepalese Infantrymen, the trail passes
through primitive villages where the people are shy, often running away from the
camera wielding trekkers. From Nyak the trails continues westward towards Namru
via the Village of Ghap. There is a marked change in the culture being people
and Buddhism becomes the pro-dominant religion. The trails are lined with Mani
stones engraved with the eternal prayers "Om Mane Padme Hum", meaning, "Himal to
the jewel in the lotus." This is a fascinating trail with Ganesh Himal, offering
a stunning backdrop with others Himalayan peaks surrounding you. On the way to
Somdu, the most remote permanent settlement in these parts, you will enjoy
magnificient views of Mt. Manaslu. Larke La usually snow covered, to Pangal and
on to Tanbuche. After Tanbuche the trail enters a wide level valley following
the expedition route to Manaslu Base camp. Crossing the Dudh Khola you will
descend through rhododendron forests crossing Karche La wich leads into the
upper Marshyangdi River Valley. Trekking back towards Gorkha along this valley
you will again experience of the extreme demographic changes as you enter the
middle and lower hills of Nepal. At Gorkha a vehicle will be awaiting you for
drive back to Kathmandu.

Mustang
Lomanthang
Mustang remote and forbidden until 1991.
The trek in to the kingdom of Mustang is an unforgettable experience, lying
behind the main mountain in the rain shadow area. Mustang just out into the
plateau, north of Jomsom and Pokhara. In the capital of Lomanthang an old walled
town, undisturbed and untouched civilisation life goes on as it has for
centuries. The numerous Gompas and prayers flags performing their eternal
ritual. A trip into Mustang is bound to be one of self-realisation inspired by
the all-encompassing teaching of Tibetan Buddhism.
This trip begins with a flight from Pokhara

setout along Kaligandaki river towards Kagberi (2,870 m.). Trekking past

constructing another building in competition. The next day you reach Lomanthang
(3,820 m.). The ancient walled Capital of Mustang, where you may spent
and extra day exploring Namgyal Gomba, the village of Tengar and the Gomba close

live in cave dwellings cut into surronding cliffs. The return Journey follows
the same route as for Chhusang village from where you can make a day to

Dhaulagiri Trek
(26 Days)
Dhaulagiri, separated from the Annapurna
region by the Kaligandaki Gorge (the deepest in the world), the Dhaulagiri
(White Mountain) massif includes about fifteen peaks in its westward sweep of
about 40 miles. It was closed for sometime to travel for trekkers and is
re-opened now from two years ago. Through quite a few mountains, the word over,
have names that translate into white Mountain, this is the biggest of them all
and the region around it's one of the beaten trek' trekking
distinations.
This trek follows a circuitous trail, first
completed by an Austrain Expedition team at 1959 around Dhaulagiri (8,167
m.) and Tukuche peak (6,920 m.). Starting from Pokhara the trail
leads north west up the Kaligandaki river valley staying on the rivers right
bank through Beni and Tatopani (here the Kaligandaki gives way to Myagdi Khola).
Continuing from Tatopani (what means hot spring) you pas through Phedi and
Dhorpatan to Muri, then head north along the left bank to cross the Myagdi
Glacier and Dhaulagiri Base Camp (4,750 m.). Approaching the French pass
(5,360 m.), between the summits of Tukuche peak and Mukut Himal.
Throughout, the colossal peaks of the Dhaulagiri range surrounding you. Crossing
the French pass (the highest point on your trek) you come out into the Hidden
valley. From here you swing south-east along the trail leading to Dhampus Pass,
between Tukuche and Thapa peak. Descending from Dhampus Pass you reach the
village of Tukuche on route to Jomsom and Muktinath (an Important Buddhist and
Hindu Pilgrimage site). After returning to Jomsom from Muktinath and fly to
Pokhara, than on to Kathmandu.
It is advisable to take one or two days
rest before you climb to the Dhaulagiri Base Camp to acclimatise for your trek
into high altitudes. Being a strenuous trek, it is suggested that participants
must be in excellent physical condition and possess some previous experience and
skill of crossing glaciers end climbing snow slopes. Weather could play a
definitive role in determining the successful completion of this
trek.
This trek last 24 days and we sleep in
tents. It is also possible to extend with seven days. Than you walk from Jomsom
to Ghorepani

Dolpo
Areas
This trek was opened for trekking in 1989.
The Dolpo region is hard to match for it's pristine beauty and rugged charm.
Lying in the rain shadow area of the Himalayas. The landscape resembles that of
Tibetan plateau, instead of the lush, green, monsoon watered hills elsewhere in
Nepal at lower altitudes. Possibly the last century of Bon-Po, a Shamanistic
religion that pre-dates Buddhism. Dolpo is also the home of rare Himalayan
animals like the Snowleopard, Tibetan hare and the Himalayan weasel. The route
fails within the valley of the Shey-Phoksundo, the Blue Lake, with ancient
monasteries and old villages. It is the focal point of the trip. The Kanjiroba
Himal provides a panoramic backdrop.
The trip begins with a flight, first into Nepalgunj,
followed by on to Jumla (2,340 m.) the trail then leads to Gothichaur
through terraced fields of wheat, barley and potatoes and onto villages and
forests. After crossing the Muri-La (4,320 m.) the trail reacheds Kagmara
Phedi. Starting out from Kagmara Phedi in the early morning and crossing the
Kagmara, La (5,115 m.), the highest point in your trek, from where you
can see unfold magnificent views of the Kanjiroba Himal. If you keep a sharp
look-out, on the climb to Kagmara La you may see the Himalayan Black Bearsd. The
next day the trail leads into Ringmo, a picturesque village with flat roof
houses in the Tibetan style. The next day explore the area around lake
Phoksundo, including the monastery at Ringmo, leaving Ringmo; begin the journey
back via Aakhe Juphal and Dunai, from where you board the plane Nepalgunj and on
to Kathmandu. This trek requires the crossing of high passes. The Kagmara-La is
the more strenuous of the two and its crossing is dependent upon favourable
weather. It is really necessary to deviate from this route, through at the time
of October and November it may be necessary to use ropes in snow
conditions
