Entry for July 27, 2006
I have been working on a report concerning a Katrina survivors listening project and several people need to feed input into this report. I found and online word processor called Zohowriter which allows multiple users to update the same document from any location they happen to be at. I could go to the library and update it from one of the libraries computers. I gave access to someone else to update the report and she did a lot of the work from her house. It was working great until yesterday when it would not seem to save any of the changes I was making but today it is working fine. This is a free service, you don't need to download any software to your own computer to use it. What I don't know is how they fund it. I don't see any advertisements that usually show up on the free services. Is it all volunteer time? If it is, they don't seem be be asking for donations like a lot of the shareware developers do. Anyway, it seems to be a great service and I highly recommend it.
