The election, will it make a difference?  So, the democrats will be in control of congress for the next two years. Some differences may be that President Bush will bring out his veto stamp for the first time. The will be a different emphasis on legislation coming out of congress. We miight get an increase in the minimum wage. There may be attempts to limit the amount of welfare going to the already wealthy but I think that will be a tough fight for the democrats. There will be no more talk of tax cuts unless they are for the lower and middle class and not for the already wealthy. The attempts to kill the estate tax should be dead (no pun intended). The war in Iraq will continue but there is more hope now that the arrogant Rumsfeld is out. There is no easy way out but now there is a glimmer of hope that new policies will be more effective. Personally I think that we should just pull out. (yes, I am a cut and run democrat). Now or ten years from now, when we leave the same thing will happen, so why not leave now. Iraq needs to control its own destiny and if that means civil war (as if there is such a thing as a "civil" war) the sooner the US gets out the sooner that the civll war will begin and the sooner it will be over.
