Welcome to the home of the mighty Investigator 563, pocket cruiser and trailer sailer.
If you've visited before, you'll notice some changes to the presentation of this site, and to its content. I'm continually updating as I find more information on the Investigator.
The Investigator is a small (5.63m LOA) fibreglass trailerable yacht produced in Australia in the late 1970s-early 1980s. Approximately 170 were produced, the last in 1989.
Kevin Shepherd designed the Investigator to overcome the key problems with small trailerable yachts - the intrusion of the centreboard casing into the cabin and the lack of a decent ballast:displacement ratio which plagued most small production trailer sailers.
This page is intended as a resource site for the Investigator trailer sailer and also to showcase what various Investigators, and their owners, are up to.
If you have any comments or suggestions, or if you're an Investigator owner with some more information, articles or photos, please email me or sign the guestbook.
