| Innovation | I have many interests in my life outside work, including creative writing, current affairs and travel. These areas are essential to my working life as they help me keep an open mind and to see problems from abstract angles. |
| Fast Learning | My work within a small company (Sinara) has frequently required the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies in short periods of time. Employment History |
| April 2001 - Present Day VSO is the world's largest independent volunteering agency. It promotes volunteering to fight global poverty and disadvantage. My employment at VSO has been as a developer and technical consultant within our in-house development team. With VSO I have worked from our base in London, and also from six offices overseas.
Web Services For the past 18 months I have worked as technical lead on all of VSO's internet, intranet and extranet based services. These focus on securely managing the flow of information between VSO's staff and volunteers working worldwide. An essential part of this work has been an awareness of the issues of information access in developing countries. I have lead the development of a corporate intranet which is now securely accessible to all of our employees worldwide. I have also advised on the implementation of document and content management systems. |
