Inkwenkwezi Game Reserve (1)

28.1.2001

We enjoyed game viewing and the lovely Eastern Cape countryside in an open Landrover (with sunroof, fortunately). Small roads and tracks, across the hills and through some small rivers, up and down. It was really warm and sunny, we were all sweating even in the shade under the sunroof. Our guide Percy pointed out many plants and animals to us. It was most interesting and time was flying. In the end we all learnt a little about fauna and flora of the Eastern Cape.

Jan is enjoying the trip through Africa.

An ants nest in the bushes. We could see a long trail of ants leading up the trunk and into the nest.

Aloe vera.

In the valleys there were many small rivers and streams. So it was quite humid and we could see fungi on the tree trunks and on the ground. Some of them, however, are poisonous.
